| Abstract: | This research aims to provide an integrated solution to improve and develop medical diagnosis by utilizing the latest technological advances. Inherently, neurological and psychiatric conditions exhibit similar symptoms at times, making it difficult to diagnose. The patients’ records (including history, diagnosis and treatment) are electronically saved; this ensures that the highly confidential data is always secure, backed-up and easily retrievable when needed. This eliminates wasting of resources that are prevalent in the old method when using hardcopy files. This research uses resources from the scientific, psychiatry, medical and literature fields; while using technical tools to aid in the diagnosis of the presented cases. The diagnostic system was designed using one of the artificial intelligence languages, Prolog, and its integration with the Visual Studio language, chosen for its high technical specifications, easiness of use, flexibility and effectiveness. This allows doctors and fellow researchers instant access to the rich data compiled from the patients’ files stored. Finally, this research recommends implementing this system in all specialized hospitals, combining new technology with the traditional psychiatric field, making it easier for patients’ diagnosis. Furthermore, facilitating a direct communication channel between patient and doctor. |
